Impacts

Asia

  •  Japan was destroyed from bombs.
  • Japan was temporary under U.S. military while, their military was tried for war crimes.
  • Countries decolonized creating more independent countries

Africa:

  • Many new countries gained outright independence after the war
  • Economy decreased in many African countries.
  • Colonial governments became highly aware that colonial rule could not be controlled forever.

Middle East

  • England was also bombed due to the war.
  • The U.S. helped aid England.
  • The United Kingdom’s national wealth was decreased by 1/4.

The Americas:

  • Americas went threw Economic Expansion.
  • This caused the economy to go up, which made the amount of jobs  increase.
  • Farmers had a hard time farming due to the rise in productivity(ratio of output to inputs).
  • The US also became competitors with Soviet Union as they were both in great power.

Europe:  Germany was beat. The Nazi’s leaders were imprisoned for inhumane crimes. After the war, it was the beginning of the nuclear power industry. The European economy crashed.  Russia lost 40 million people in the war.

South African government was divided.

 

Impact on today:

  • We lost billions of people.
  • We also became more industrialized.
  • In some places, racism dwindled because men had to fight with other units of a different race.
